PUERTO RICO PERFORMANCE TOUR SAMPLE ITINERARY
Ponce .. San Juan

World Projects can customize a performance tour to beautiful Puerto Rico for your musical ensemble, including exchange performances, public performances, and performances in concert halls and churches. Additional performances at area venues can also be arranged.

DAY ONE: ARRIVE SAN JUAN or PONCE (D)
 
 Morning:En Route
 Afternoon: Arrive into San Juan, Puerto Rico (or possibly direct into Ponce). Meet your bilingual Tour Manager who will assist in loading the coach. Depart for your hotel in Ponce. Laid-back and charming, the “Pearl of Puerto Rico” Ponce is also known as the "Ciudad Señorial" (majestic city) because of its many beautiful neoclassical buildings and facades. Founded in 1692, Ponce offers a wonderful view into Puerto Rico’s past including its pre-Hispanic origins and its Hacienda cultural heritage. Transfer to your hotel and check-in.
 Evening: Enjoy a Welcome Dinner as a group. Return to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.
 
DAY TWO: PONCE (B,D) – Performance #1
 

 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a guided tour of Ponce’s historical district including the Parque de Bomba (Ponce’s original fire station), Ponce Catedral, the Teatro la Perla and the Museo de la Musica Puertoriquena.
 Afternoon: Lunch on own at Ponce’s Plaza Las Delicias. Transfer to a local school or other performance venue. Performance in Ponce (at a local school or public venue).
 Evening: Dinner as a group. This evening, enjoy the local scene at La Gaucha (waterfront).

 
DAY THREE: PONCE (B,D) – Performance #2
 

 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, enjoy a visit to Tibes Indian Ceremonial Center to see indigenous culture prior to the arrival of Europeans.
 Afternoon: Lunch on own. This afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Hacienda Buena Vista to see 19th Century plantation life. Return to the hotel to get ready for this evening.
 Evening: Dinner as a group. Joint Performance in Ponce (at a local concert hall, church or school/university).

 
DAY FOUR: PONCE . SAN JUAN (B,D)
 

 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out of the hotel, load the coach and depart for San Juan. Founded over 500 years ago by Juan Ponce de Leon, San Juan was a key component to the Spanish empire’s control of the Caribbean. Still a major port and the financial and cultural capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan is a gracious, bustling city filled with beautiful architecture, imposing forts, and stunning beaches. Upon arrival into San Juan, enjoy a guided walking tour of Old San Juan. You will visit the San Cristobal Fortress (including entrance fee), the Casa Blanca, Catedral de San Jose, the Plaza des Armes, etc.
 Afternoon: Lunch and free time on own in Old San Juan. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
 Evening: Dinner as a group. Tonight, you may want to go dancing at the Neuyorican Café or the Rumba Boat (cost on own).

 
DAY FIVE: SAN JUAN (B,D) – Performance #3 / Workshop
 

 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music for a workshop and/or exchange.
 Afternoon: Lunch on own. Performance at a public venue TBD (possibly a local church, square, or museum). This afternoon, enjoy some time to explore Old San Juan on own or visit one of the beautiful beaches.
 Evening: Dinner as a group.

 
DAY SIX: SAN JUAN (B,D) – Performance #4
 
 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. The morning and afternoon are free to enjoy San Juan on own. Spend time in Old San Juan, enjoy the sand and surf at Condado Beach or Isla Verde – World Projects staff can help arrange a snorkelling or scuba trip (cost on own).
 Afternoon: Lunch on own.
 Evening: Dinner as a group. Joint Performance in San Juan (at a local concert hall, church, or school/university).
 
 DAY SEVEN: SAN JUAN / EL YUNQUE / PLAYA DE LUQUILLO (B,D)
 

 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will enjoy sightseeing in the eastern part of Puerto Rico. This morning, transfer to the amazing Playa de Luquillo, one of Puerto Rico’s finest beaches. Enjoy free time to swim in the surf and get lunch on own at one the many famous food kiosks along the beach.
 Afternoon: Enjoy a guided walk through the El Yunque Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the US National Forest System. Included in the visit are stops at the El Portal Visitor’s Center, La Coca Falls, and the Yokahu Tower.
 Evening: Farewell Dinner as a group. Afterwards, return to the hotel in San Juan.

 
 DAY EIGHT: DEPART PUERTO RICO (B)
 
 Morning:Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out of the hotel, load the coach and transfer to San Juan International Airport. Arrive at the airport and check-in for flights home and move through security to your departure gate. Depart San Juan for home.
