For a week in July each year, thousands of musicians from over 15 countries meet in Schladming, a small Alpine village at the foot of the Dachstein Mountain in Austria, to perform and experience fascinating wind music from around the world. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Wolfgang Suppan, past-President of WASBE (World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles), and now led by Johann Mosenbichler, MID EUROPE is considered the largest wind orchestra festival in Europe.
